What 5 essential pop culture artifacts (CDs, DVDs, Books, Images, Toys, etc.) would you have on your desert island?: 1, I'd need a solar generator for power for devices!
2. A magical iPhone w/ ALL of my music and audio books, movies, and tv shows! If you need specifics.... indie, industrial, futurepop, and dubstep will work for music... sci fi tv shows (firefly, farscape, twilight zone, Dr. Who, etc.), Movies... foreign ones w/ subtitles... pixar films... sci fi, fantasy, epics (LoTR), HP
3. A kindle w/ access to the network for unlimited book downloads. Specifics for that... poetry... lots of poetry.... mysteries, fantasy (Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy would be nice to have).
4. Images? Pics of my son (6) and daughter on the way that magically change so I can see how they're growing up.
5. One of those machines from various sci fi series that creates whatever food you want instantaneously just by shutting the door and hitting a couple buttons!

Since you rock the English thing you might consider joining some of the ELA groups to stay up on resources and discussion.
