Making Curriculum Pop

Costume designers build character through wardrobe sketches, and author Deborah Nadoolman Landis has tracked down hundreds of these rarities for Hollywood Sketchbook (Harper, $82.50).  Landis, a historian of costume (also the senior guest curator of the extensive “Hollywood Costume” exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, on view now through Jan. 27, 2013) has rounded up more than 500 never-published examples of the work of Hollywood’s behind-the-scenes designers of film costume, from the iconic to the obscure. More details here.
