Making Curriculum Pop

Check local listings- national airdate is November 2. This program, airing on PBS stations nationwide, brings to vivid life one of the most fascinating criminal cases in American history: the 1913 murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan, a child laborer in an Atlanta pencil factory, and the trial and lynching of Leo Frank, the Jewish factory supervisor accused of her murder. The film illuminates the scandalous trial and its shocking aftermath with dramatic sequences created verbatim from transcripts, documents and letters.

Frank - thanks for sharing and cross-posting this resource - you rule supreme!!

Ryan:)
This case is also the subject of a musical that debuted on Broadway in 1998: Parade, with book by Alfred Uhry (author of Driving Miss Daisy) and score by Jason Robert Brown. A production of this show has recently opened in LA with TR Knight as Leo Frank. The recording is readily available, if a teacher wants to include a theatrical adaptation of this material.
A to the T,

Thanks for the additional info (as always). For those interested in the musical wikipedia is always a great starting point!!
