Forbes has just published their list of the top 15 richest fictional characters in books and film.  They also have some other great posts related to the list, such as "How much is a dragon worth?" and "Why are there so few rich women in fiction?"  Great ideas for everyday maths being used in an off-beat, engaging way!

Colin - I'm currently looking for ways to infuse math/numeracy/financial material into high school English units of study.  This material will be a fantastic help, particularly the piece on rich women in fiction ... one of the novels I'm working with is Pride and Prejudice.
