I am starting a new novel unit with my 7th Graders in a few weeks. I was wondering if anyone had resources for the novel _Oddballs_ by William Sleator.

If you're not in the adolescent lit group and you do work with YA lit you may want to check out the incredible "Behind the YA Lit" article from the New Yorker I posted in that group today. Totally fascinating stuff!

Stay Groovy!!

I don't know if we have any Math or Science people in this group that aren't already in the Math, Science or Sustainability groups. However if you work in those disciplines.
1. Consider joining those groups and
2. Check out the great new Bill Nye Algebra TV Show &
3. The Legos + Math, Chemistry, Biology and Art posting.

Wild stuff!

Hope everyone is having a nice Columbus Day.

You might be interested in reading about UNESCO's call for an international Media Literacy Curriculum in the Media Education Discussion Forum - there's also an interesting blurb there about a French proposal to put warning labels on photoshopped models in magazines. Both articles were forwarded to me via Media Literacy Clearinghouse guru and MC Popper Frank Baker.

Enjoy! RRG:)
