Making of "The Hobbit"
How filmmakers use camera tricks and computer technology to bring a fantasy world to life, is the cover story in the December 10, 2012 issue of Scholastic's ScienceWorld current science magazine. The current issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine (December 14) features a cover story on the making of the film, with a nice page comparing conceptual drawings with scenes from the film.

I don't think we realize how prevalent green screen technology is today, not only in movies, but in television shows as well. Check out this site, which show how Stargate Studios uses green screen in some of your favorite shows. Wow! What is real anymore?
