My Teaching Guide for The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary

The movie is out on 3/19 and Jeff Kinney wrote a new book about the moviemaking process. I created a teaching guide for the book that might have some screen education and media literacy activities that you can adapt even if you won't be using the movie or the book as a touchstone -- many of these are versions of activities I've used in film classes going back to 1990.

Congrats Peter. This looks great: extremely teacher AND kid friendly. I especially like the deconstructing of the screenplay page and I will be incorporating it into my own workshops about understanding the film-making process AND the language of film. BRAVO.

Thanks for the kind words, Frank. This was rushed, so there are some errors and things I might change, but I'm glad you still find it useful. I think Abrams did a beautiful job designing it and am proud they asked me to help out. Soon a related resource will be available -- a "Party Kit" that has a bunch of movie-related games and activities, many of which should work in schools and other settings. I'll post that, too, when the time comes.
