Code Rush is a nationwide competition for elementary and middle school students hosted by CodeMonkey Studios and sponsored by Flocabulary andMakey Makey. School-based teams of 8–10 students from grades 3–5 or grades 6–8 learn coding through challenges on programming topics delivered via the CodeMonkey platform. Teams receive from one to three stars for their solutions. Based on scoring averages, 10 teams in each grade division (elementary and middle school) win.
Eligibility: Students in grades 3–8 in US schools; participation costs $49.95 per team; each team must have a teacher, instructor, or parent team leader aged 18 or older
Deadlines: 2019 registration to take place during January and February, with the competition in March
Awards: Each winning team receives a free yearly CodeMonkey classroom subscription; 2019 prizes from sponsors to be announced
