Just took a look at your activity.Types.kmz and web2GE examples. I am planning a Google Earth session for teachers, and these examples are perfect. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful resource and your website.

Hey Jim - This is great - you know if you'd like you can ALWAYS make a comment like that up above in the discussion forum - that way it is easier for people to find and you can add screenshots and such so folks can get a good flavor of the resource/models before they link out.
Also comments (as you can see below) tend to get buried - so if you add it to the forum it can easily be found by folks who join later!!
Ryan:)

We are using Google Earth extensively in various curricula- some with embedded Web 2.0 widgets and some with simple placemarks. Here are two KMZ files you can download and look at samples. ActivityTypes.kmz and Web2GEExamples.kmz.

Kelly, only Helen rocks, I feel like I'm trapped in a Clown car when I get on Google Earth! Yes Helen, share when your ready - we can't wait - you tech like a rockstar!
Does your school have Google Earth 5? Many more capabilities, like using local files so you do not use bandwidth. So you could post a student video or audio file. Also, the ability to create a video of your tour. I am getting Google 5 sometime soon. Our district has not upgraded to Google Earth 5 because of the bandwidth requirements.
I will be working on an example for a professional development session, so then I can post an example.

Helen and Ryan, you both rock out!! I'll have to check this out. We're about to do explorer journals in GE--maybe we'll use our voices instead of typing our comments this time around if I can sell the teachers on that. Should be fun!

Helen, You're a stud - Kelly Wood will be excited to hear about this. Do you have a sample that is public (via GE) we could look at? Google Earth melts my small brain!
BTW If folks aren't down with VoiceThread you should check it out - great for basic digital storytelling:
VoiceThread - Group conversations around images, documents, and videos
I just tried embedding voicethreads into google earth, and that works as well. So, students can create little voicethread presentations with audio, and it can be placed in google earth.
