Google earth - audio files

Use Vocaroo.com to add voice files to Google earth. Just record any length you need. Click on post to internet, and copy the code. In google earth, write a description in a postmark, paste the Vocaroo info into the description and post. You can then click on your post and listen to your recording.

Students can add their own research post, or students can add comments etc.

Easy to do.

A great cohort member of mine has informed me of a way to use Wii and dry erase markers like a smartboard. WiiTeachers is a site that offers information you need to create an interactive whiteboard out of a Wii Remote and an inexpensive pen you can either buy or build yourself.

It can save you thousands of dollars!

Have you already heard about Spelling City? It rocks my socks!! Great for younger grades, but could work for kids w/ special needs in the older grades or some middle-grade classes.

You might be interested in reading about UNESCO's call for an international Media Literacy Curriculum in the Media Education Discussion Forum - there's also an interesting blurb there about a French proposal to put warning labels on photoshopped models in magazines. Both articles were forwarded to me via Media Literacy Clearinghouse guru and MC Popper Frank Baker.

What perfect timing. Several groups of students are putting together a multimedia presentation on Piracy and Copyright, so this video will work well with their presentation.
