CSPAN D-Day Anniversary Programming

June 6 marks the 70th anniversary of the World War II D-Day invasion of Normandy, France. On June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops attacked along a 50-mile stretch of Normandy beaches defended by German forces. Despite suffering more than 9,000 casualties, by day’s end the Allies had gained a foothold in Normandy.
