I agree with Ryan - usually if you show the IT people the site and explain why it is useful, they will unblock it for you. We had that happen with lots of things that we didn't expect to be blocked, and we've been able to get around it.

You know sometimes districts block ALL social networking sites so all Ning, MySpace and Facebook accounts are often blocked. In that case, you need to call your district IT person, tell them the domain name and explain why you think you should be able to use the network and usually they can unblock it.
