Making Curriculum Pop

Hi everyone, My name is Cary Gillenwater, and I am a doctoral student
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am working on my
qualitative dissertation entitled Hybrid texts in adolescents lives:
Uses and possibilities, and I need your help. I am hoping that someone
either is, or can put me in touch with, middle school language arts
teachers and/or high school English teachers in NC that have been using
the medium of comic books/graphic novels effectively in their classes
for a significant amount of time. Essentially I am looking for teachers
who have years of experiencing using this medium, often in place of or
complimentary to traditional literature. Thank you! Cary

Hi, Cary. If you want to contact me at my utep e-mail, I may have some names for you, though they may or may not be close to Chapel Hill. Also, I hope you'll reconsider using the term "genre" to describe graphic novels and comics as you continue your research. I look forward to seeing your future work!

Best,
James Bucky Carter
Howdy neighbor (Cary, NC here) - what sorts of entities do you include as "schools"? Specifically, how about homeschoolers?
Hi neighbor (Carrboro), Unfortunately for my dissertation it needs to be public schools. Do you happen to know of anyone in a public school setting?
I will keep my eyes open and ask around!
Thanks!
