Just looked over the free reading guide for Teaching with Classic Kids' Comics. Looks Great! I was able to reserve the book at my public library. Thanks for the resource.

Marcy - just above - see where it says "Discussion forum?"

Dawn's is - "QUESTION: Video Clips for Assessent" - you see it?

I know it can be a bit nutty when you first join but over time people get a feel for it :)

Marcy - great responses - would you mind copying and pasting them up into Dawn's question in the discussion forum? That way all the wonderful answers and resources will be archived (stuff on the comment wall gets buried over time) and also shared on the next Crowdsource Tuesday!

I know this site well! The town of Brookline uses Stephanie Harvey's reading comprehension toolkit which is very similar as far as the comprehension techniques students learn to use as they read. Each focuses on teaching explicit comprehension techniques as mini-lessons, and then the students "think" as they read. Very cool! And it works!

Dawn,
I videotaped a writing conference I had with a struggling student to show mom some of the strategies I used to help her child expand his ideas so she could help him in the same way. Parents and teachers should be a team and use the same language.

Dawn - very cool - you wouldn't know - like any culture it takes time to get the feel of it - and every social network is a bit different - kudos to you for getting in the mix! Great survey's - I'll be bookmarking those big time :)

Thanks Ryan, this is my first time using a social network. I am taking a computer course this summer and I did a survey on my computer knowlege. This is the area that it said I need to explore. It feels a little strange asking others for help. Here is the link to survey.
